Career Management and Women
Should women have the same opportunities as men for promotions? OF COURSE, you say!
Well then, why do so many women leave their careers up to their supervisors? I have worked with many women from career women all the way, to women re-entering the workforce, and women with "non-traditional" careers. Most of these women did not proactively take control of their career. They just waited for opportunities to drop in their lap, waited for someone to send them to a Professional Development class or seminar, waited for regular raises, waited, waited.....
The majority of my clients are men: 3:2 is the ratio. So many women don't believe that they should pay for career services even when their husbands have used my career management services (www.resumesuite.com) very successfully, I might add.
What's up with that? (as my teenagers would say!)
